I made 8 batches of this salsa for a dear friend's daughters wedding reception. It was really easy to make and very tasty so I thought I would share the recipe here. It is especially great served with fritos scoops! I made this again on sunday for an after church lunch for my family. Yummy!

ReplyDeleteWe call this Mississippi Caviar!!
ReplyDeleteMmmm... looks yummy. It reminds me of Texas Cavier.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny because I was going to post my Texas cavier recipe on Wed!! I'm excited to try this one though - you have told me about it before and I love this style of salsa. yum!
ReplyDeleteI love salsa! Can't wait to try this version!
ReplyDeleteAny chance this was for Lindsey Pfleuger's reception? She married my brother Kaleb and I enjoyed this salsa at a reception last week. How funny to be blog surfing and find a picture of this salsa that I loved. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteHeather,
ReplyDeleteYOu are absolutely right--this was for Lindsey and Kaleb's reception!! How funny--what a small world! Wasn't the wedding beautiful--especially the bride and groom?! And all the food was just great!
Mel- I have a very similiar recipe that uses fresh avacado and black beans instead of the fresh pepper. It is one of our favorites.
ReplyDeleteNow that I have tried this, I can say with certainty that it IS very yummy. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie,

ReplyDeleteWhat is shoepeg corn ?
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteShoepeg corn is just a tiny corn. It comes in a can on the isle with all the other canned corn and vegtables. I think the brand i bought last time was green giant. Good luck! Another great recipe using is on theis site is Black and White bean dip. IT is a hot dip--0and seriously GREAT!!
My mom made your recipe over the holidays and it was a huge hit. It's a great alternative to regular salsa. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI have made this multiple times and it is always a hit. It makes enough to take to a party and keep a little at home for the family :-) Love your blog. Keep up the great work!
