This is one of our favorite quick and easy meals on nights that I am trying to wrap presents or make favorite Christmas treats like this or this or this and don't really want to take the time to make dinner.
I thought it was a good one to post this month, since most of us are a little BUSY this time of year. If you are like me, you will appreciate this simple dinner recipe...or should I say dinner idea!
Meatball Marinara Sandwich
submitted by Melanie
You simply need:
A bag of your favorite crusty rolls
A bottle of your favorite Marinara sauce or make your own
Sliced Provolone Cheese
Frozen Italian Meatballs ( sometimes I cut them in half--much less likely to "pop out" of the sandwich for the boys)
Pour the sauce over as many meatballs as you like. Heat the meatballs in the microwave or stove according to the directions on the package.
Split the rolls, lay a slice of Provolone cheese on. Toast under the broiler.
Assemble and serve with a some fresh fruit and carrot sticks! At least that it what I do. My family loves this dinner and I love that it is so quick and easy!
I just found this great blog through a friend! It's so fun to see all you sisters doning this together!
ReplyDeleteI read the trubute to your mom, and I just have to say that she made me want to be a home maker as well, she was my TLC, cooking/sewing teacher in junior high.
Thanks for all these yummy recepies. I will make many.
That is a mighty sandwich!
ReplyDeleteWhy havent I ever thought of that?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the quick dinner idea!
What a great idea! And I love the free songs, but can't figure out how to download them. What am I doing wrong? I've got them open in itunes, I'm pretty new to the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteHi April,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you can't download them. Try clicking on the free album rectangular box in the top left side of the screen when you are on the album in the Itunes store (where the link should take you) It took me awile to figure it out too! I am glad I am not the only one! Hope that helps!
Great minds and stomachs think alike! I made a meatball sandwich and blogged about it just a couple of days ago!! YUM!

ReplyDeleteI make it even easier on myself--I put a layer of frozen meatballs in the crockpot and pour the sauce on top. They are ready in just a few hours!
ReplyDeleteMy husband would love this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great idea - it came in handy tonight! We were decorating our gingerbread sleighs until dinner time and I had nothing to serve!
ReplyDeleteThis was just the ticket for me (so easy!) and my family (they loved it!). I served it with a green salad. No leftovers. Thank you, Melanie!
