24 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (I like fresh best)
garlic salt
Thaw 24 Rhodes dinner rolls. It's best when they are still cold but completely thawed. Place cheese onto separate plate. Roll each roll into an approximately 6" breadstick. Melt 1 stick butter. Place melted butter on 11x17 baking sheet and coat entire surface with butter. Roll each breadstick in the butter. Next roll each buttered breadstick in parmesan cheese. Place breadstick on baking sheet in 2 rows of twelve each. Sprinkle with garlic salt, if desired. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise until double in size. Remove wrap and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Mmm I love these breadsticks! I used to always make it with the rhodes white bread loaf instead of the rolls. I thought it was easier. I can not find rhodes frozen dough here in the south--boo hoo! I miss it!
ReplyDeleteOh the breadsticks look so delicious! Yum!
ReplyDeleteYum! I had these at your house. So good! And I love how easy they are. I am for sure going to do this this week.
ReplyDeleteOooh yummy! i love easy fast alternatives! These are SO good too! Thanks for the recipe, Amy!
ReplyDeleteOh this looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteMy mother makes breadsticks like these and I LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteOne twist you can try that my mother does is sprinkling McCormick's "Salad Supreme Seasoning" in place of the parmesan cheese on top before they rise. It turns the breadsticks a beautiful color and is absolutely delicious.
How long does it usually take to double in size?
ReplyDeleteJulie- It usually takes me about an hour and a half or so but it will probably depend on the temperature of your kitchen. I usually get busy and forget how long they've been rising! Carrie- I have heard the Salad Supreme Seasonings is very yummy, I'm going to try that next time!
ReplyDeleteThese turned out great -- thanks! I used 2 loaves of Rhodes bread dough for about 24 breadsticks.
