Anyway, I was in charge of bringing food, along with a friend of mine. I brought Cranberry SpiceTea (I like to call it Cranberry Wassail), Roasted Cinnamon Almonds as well as these Spiced Oyster Crackers to snack on at the tables, breadsticks to go along with the yummy soup my friend brought, and Eggnog Bundt Cake with cinnamon caramel sauce.
You can click on the names of the dishes to get the recipes. *I should make a note that I use nearly this same breadstick recipe with only a few differences: I add a little more flour to the dough when necessary, melt 4 T. butter in the pan (by placing the entire pan in a hot oven), let breadsticks rise for 30 minutes (on the counter), brush with 4 T. additional butter, and then I sprinkle with garlic salt. I think the right amount of garlic salt makes them perfect. I always measure out 2 1/2 tsp garlic salt and distribute it evenly over the breadsticks in the pan (I use one jelly roll pan).
Well, I hope you enjoy this Spiced Oyster Cracker recipe! My good friend, Brenda, passed this recipe on to me when we lived near each other in Missouri. (Miss you!) The crackers are very flavorful, so if you don't want such a kick, increase the amount of crackers to 2 1/2 bags.

Spiced Oyster Crackers

2 packages oyster crackers (generic brand is fine)
¾ cup canola oil
Hidden Valley ranch dressing dry mix
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp dill weed
1 Tbsp lemon pepper
Heat oil in microwave until luke warm. In the meantime, combine all dry ingredients. Drizzle oil over oyster crackers. Mix in dry ingredients. Shake or stir to coat. These are better a day or two after you make them.
